Thursday 28th May

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Have you enjoyed working on the books of Julia Donaldson.

Keep up the good work.

I have just been for a lovely evening walk in the woods.  Why not gather some natural materials from your daily walk and use the things you find to make a picture or sculpture. Take a picture and put it on you blog. Have fun.

There are lots of activities on DB Primary and Purple Mash. Keep going and I really love looking at all your hard work.

If you are doing other things at home. Try taking a photo and adding it to your blog on DB Primary, then I can see all the amazing work you are doing.

I have added some coding activities to DB Primary, why not have a go.

Imagine you could meet a famous person. Maybe a singer, actor or a sports person. Pretend you are going to interview them for the school website. Write out 5 questions you could ask your famous person. Remember to use: Capital letters, finger spaces, in strokes and question marks.

There is a great Phonics web site streaming live lessons for Year 1. Its called Letters and sounds for home and school.

You can watch live at 10.30am or look at lessons that have already been shown. Have a look its a great way to remember all the sounds we have been working on.

The weather has been beautiful. Imagine we could build a swimming pool on the school field. Can you design a pool for the school playing field?

Why not get some of your recycling and make a musical instrument. You could make a shaker or even a string instrument. Don't forget to put a picture or video on your blog.

If you are looking for more maths ideas, Cool Maths Games are great and for a challenge why not try the Nrich web site. Keep up the good work.

I hope you have been reading your books, there are lots of stories on Oxford Owl. Have you clicked on the owl on the left to read the books there for you?

Have you seen Mr Browns new video? Do you have any questions you would like to ask him? Why not write them down and put them on our blog and i'll ask him your questions when I'm next in school.

Have you looked at the PROJECTS yet? They are on the home learning tab, one is linked to our new WORMERIES and the otheris linked to a local rap/poet artist RAPPAMAN.

Dont forget to check out all the amazing clips and activities on BBC Bitesize.

If you have mislaid your password for DB Primary or Purple Mash your passwords are available by phone, in school 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Tuesday 26th May

Good morning, I hope you are all safe and well.

Please take some time to watch Mr Browns new video on the main DB primary page. It gives valuable information on the plans for school for the next few weeks.

I really enjoy looking at all your work. I have added comments and lots of rewards. I am so proud of all of your hard work.Well done all of you.

It's half term, so I thought it would be nice to look back at some of the books we have worked on this year by the same author. One of my favourite authors is Julia Donaldson. Here are some of the books she has written.

The Gruffalo

Zog

Room on the Broom

The Everywhere Bear

You can find all of these books on the internet so you can listen to the story and look at the pictures. Why not write a book review for you favourite and why not find out some facts about the author.

Are there any other books by Julia Donaldson that you have seen or read. Can you write a few sentences telling us all about the book and why you enjoyed it?

On our page there are new activities for DB Primary and Purple Mash. Please remember to save any work you do on these sites. If you are doing other things at home. Try taking a photo and adding it to your blog on DB Primary, then i can see all the amazing work you are doing.
